The winter storm paintings are influenced by my experience of the storm in Benjamin Britten’s Sea Interludes and his centenary year celebration of Grimes on the Beach in Aldeburgh.

The raging sea gale and swirl of the clouds but in the far distance the constant light of the stable blue sky that shines through giving the sailor/traveller hope.
